Workshop in Dubai on ‘Entertainment-Education for Academia’

Center in collaboration with Palladium Pakistan and support from UK Aid held a ‘Workshop on Entertainment-Education for Academia’ in Dubai between 9 -13 January 2017.
This was the first-ever endeavour to introduce the art and strategy of entertainment-education through a need-based curriculum designed specifically for Pakistani academia. The participants of the workshop included educators from eight universities, namely Beaconhouse National University, Fatimah Jinnah Women University, Habib University, IQRA Islamabad Islamabad campus, Kinnaird College for Women, Riphah, SZABIST Islamabad and Karachi campuses and, Center staff and entertainment-education specialists who helped develop the curriculum and conducted the workshop, Ms. Caroline Jacoby and Mr. Andrew Whaley.
The purpose of the workshop was for this team of academics to experience the first draft of the curriculum and analyse its content for further refinement to suit the needs of Pakistani university students. This course in Entertainment-Education for Social and Behaviour Change Communication (EE-SBCC) is a pioneering initiative.
