CCP Pakistan (CCPP) along with its international partner Commwithus (CWU) had their first kickstart meeting with the team of GIZ Funded TexTiles project. The project aims to improve the sustainabaility of the Textile, Fashion and Garments indistry of Pakistan through a range of complimentary interventions.
The consortium of CCPP and CWU will be working closely with technical team at GIZ Pakistan, the Saeed Ahmad Awan Center for Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (SAACIWCE) and the textile industry represenented at all levels including workers, management and owners.
In the next few months Center will be delivering a reaesrch based campaign to prevent productivity losses and health hazards due to Heat Stress and Ergonomics, both of which are widely relevant to the textile industry of Pakistan. The camapign will be a continuity to a range of campaigns launched earlier for improving Labour Standards and Occupational Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry.
The project will go a long way in improving the Occupational Health and Safety Standards in the textile industry and supporting Pakistan in uplifting its working standards which in turn has an important role to play in enabling Pakistan to keep its GSP Plus Status.
