CCP Pakistan (CCPP) is supporting its partner The British Council of Pakistan in steering the communication component of the FCDO Funded Aawaz II Programme. The Aawaz II programme works with local communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab to promote the rights of children, women, youth and other marginalised groups to strengthen and facilitate their development. The programme works through a network of 19 district and provincial partners in 22 districts—9 in KP and 13 in Punjab—to provide information referrals, facilitate citizen-state engagement for the uptake of services, and enhance the capacities of local communities. To achieve these aims, Aawaz II has set up district and sub-district Aawaz II Aagahi Centres (AACs), community-based and led village forums (VFs), district forums (DFs) and provincial forums. In terms of capacity development, the programme ha trained and developed Aawaz II Change Agents, who engage with communities through Social Action Projects (SAPs), Developed and disseminated behaviour change messages using interpersonal, print, radio and digital media.

CCP Pakistan has delivered about 40 radio programs in 20 districts of Aawaz II during September 2021 to February 2022. All programs were telecasted live on a popular local radio station and was attended by a district representative of the Aawaz II program. The topic of the program included child, early and forced marriage, child labour, gender based violence and inclusion of vulnerable segments like children, women, transgender and minorities.
