Center is proud to present a short film on occupational safety and health standards in the textile sector. The film promotes a unique concept called the ‘Return on Prevention’, illustrating the potential economic benefits of complying to occupational safety and health standards.
This film was developed by Center in partnership with GIZ and Center for the Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (CIWCE) to improve labor standards in Punjab.
The documentary narrates a journey of a team that organized screenings of the film ‘Bol’ to reinvigorate it amongst the youth, particularly in academic institutes across Pakistan. The English language short documentary includes interviews and feedback of the students who attended these events which aimed to shed light on the social and cultural issues as raised in the film.
Through Bright Star success stories and expert commentary, the documentary demonstrates the efforts and impact of USAID-funded Health Communication Component (HCC). The 13-minute documentary is primarily in English, with non-English content supported by English subtitles.

The video documentary provides an introduction to ‘Sukh Initiative’ a family planning project (2013 – 2018) implemented in Karachi and highlights its key interventions to building a holistic health eco-system aimed at increasing modern contraceptive use by 15 percentage points.

This documentary speaks to the larger media community, and more specifically to media manager, senior journalists and editors, in Pakistan to build their knowledge on population and family planning issues and also highlight reasons why this remains an underreported subject.

The documentary is based on the intervention that engaged muslim scholars across Pakistan for promoting mother and child health. It gives a detailed insight into the entire activity in approximately 13 minutes. It comprises brief statements by Muslim scholars, representing different Islamic sects, on the issue of mother and child health and success of the intervention.

Center, with funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, develop this 10-minute documentary focusing on factors leading to poor maternal health. It presents compelling information in a dramatic way, linking the timeless love story of the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, who lost his wife Mumtaz Mahal while she delivered her 14th child, and issues of maternal and newborn health in Pakistan today.
