Training Workshop

Center for Communication Programs Pakistan organized a two-week long skills-based training workshop on Infographics and visualization from 12th – 26th December 2018 at Islamabad. A total of 12 participants initially joined the training, including six participants from three Islamabad based organizations (Bedari, UGOOD & Awaz), which are also part of the caucus – End Child Marriage – being supported by the Center. The said training was a combination of face to face interaction and remote assignments.

The two weeks of training included pre-prepared assignments including developing a social media post and a poster depicting a specific international day linked to child marriage; development of a wipe card and a post for social media depicting anti child marriage theme. The workshop was designed so that participants had face to face interaction with the trainer and each other three times in the course of two weeks.

Training Workshop

First day of training i.e., 12th December 2018 participants attended a four-hour session at the Center dedicated to introductions, refreshing basics of infographics and visualization and discussion on the importance of team work i.e., program and design team to ensure the objectives of any material developed is achieved. The session also included group work, which the teams were asked to share via team wise WhatsApp groups created. A day wise schedule including timeline for submission of wireframes and final products was also shared with all participants.

The participants met for the second face to face session on 19th December 2018. The two hours’ session included feedback on the first assignment i.e., poster and Facebook post celebrating an international day linking it to child marriage. Each group’s work was presented in plenary, soliciting feedback from the group. The strengths and areas of improvement of each group’s work were shared by the trainer and the teams were requested to share final versions based on feedback which mainly related to use of space, color and fonts.
