Leadership in Strategic Communication NetworkThe Leadership in Strategic Communication Network is built over a period of more than fifteen years. The Network comprises communication experts and activists who are graduates of Center’s flagship training program that it offers in Pakistan in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins University. Almost every year, Center hold an alumni meeting together in conjunction with that year’s training. Workshop on Leadership in Strategic CommunicationThe Workshop on Leadership in Strategic Communication is a 2-week long training facilitated by Dr. Benjamin Lozare, who is a well-known academician of leadership and communication. The workshop enshrines a “transformative experience” for individuals seeking leadership roles in the field of communication within their careers or beyond their organizations. The workshop has been conducted in over 100 countries around the globe. The alumni pool is made up of health ministers, mission directors; and leaders of government organizations, civil society and media and communication sectors. The workshop focuses on different features of communication theory, design and measurement strategies, from a social and behavior change perspective. In addition to this, the workshop also involves training on current trends in project management, crisis management and leadership. The Lead FacilitatorThis workshop has been designed and is led by Dr. Benjamin V. Lozare. Dr. Lozare obtained a PhD degree in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin and has more than 25 years of experience in research, teaching and development communication. He was also an Eisenhower Fellow and recipient of the first Newsweek International Communication Grant. History of the WorkshopThe Workshop on Leadership in Strategic Communication has been running in Pakistan since 2001. Over the years, the network of alumni has grown stronger with nearly 250 participants of both the public and private sectors of Pakistan. Many members of Center have also participated in workshops both within Pakistan and in US and have brought back with them expertise, tools and resources. The last alumni meeting was held in conjunction with the tenth workshop in Islamabad on August 10, 2016. A total of a 100 participants attended the meeting from both the private and public sector. The occasion provided an opportunity for the alumni to network and learn from each other as well as from the new graduates. |
