ASIM NAZEER has joined Center as Social and Behavior Change Communication Specialist for the Health Communication Component of the Maternal and Child Health Program in Sindh. Asim has nearly 15 years of experience in social development sector. Asim holds a Master degrees in Public Health and Economics and National Vocational Qualification in Social Care. During his career, Asim has worked in several large-scale reproductive health and family planning programs. His expertise lies in community building and organization, especially social mobilization and accountability. Asim is an established trainer and has developed various manuals and tools for various cadres of staff at national and international organizations engaged in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health programming.
ATIF IKRAM BUTT serves Center as its Executive Director. Atif has a PhD in International Development Studies from Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. He has more than 15 years of experience in development communication and networking. His main areas of expertise are in the fields of strategy development, advocacy and policy research with strong focus on the aspects of monitoring and evaluation of social and behavior change communication interventions. During his career, Atif has worked on national and overseas assignments with some of the most renowned international aid and humanitarian organizations including Department for International Development, German Agency for International Cooperation, International Labor Organization, United Nations Development Program, Johns Hopkins University, the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia Herzegovina and recently with United Nations Children's Fund. Atif voluntarily serves as the Secretary General of the White Ribbon Alliance Pakistan, an advocacy platform for promoting maternal health as well as the Media Coordinator of the East-West Center, Pakistan Chapter. Atif holds two master degrees, in Public Policy and in Business Administration. In addition, Atif has substantial knowledge of management information systems and development research. He has written extensively on development issues in Pakistan and has been a panelist at a number of international conferences.
AZEEMA FAIZUNNISA works as Research Specialist with Center. She has a PhD in Sociology from University of Hawaii and has been associated with the development sector for around 20 years. At Center, she provides support in conducting research and carrying out monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects. Before joining Center, she has worked with Population Council, World Population Foundation and is also associated with COMSATS university.
DANISH BUTT has been working with Center since its inception in 2011 as Tax Consultant. He is affiliated with B&M Associates, where he works as Tax Consultant. Danish provides all tax related services to Center.
EHTESHAM ABBAS is specialist is strategic communication with a diversified multi-channel and multi-subject experience of more than eleven years. At Center, he provides technical and managerial support for the USAID-funded Health Communication Component. His expertise is in development of comprehensive communication strategy for social and behaviour change, 360 Degree Integrated Communications, Media Advocacy as well as Program Designing. At Center, he supported numerous projects including the IFES Funded Women Voter Education Project, the DFID Funded Empowerment, Voice and Accountability Project as well as the UNDP Funded APNA PAKISTAN Project. Previously he was working for the leading communication and advertising companies as well as a communication consultant with various strategic departments of the Government. He has an MBA in Marketing and Bachelors in Business Management. He is also an Alumni of the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Program’s “Leadership in Strategic Health Communications” Workshop.
FARIHA NAZ has worked in the fields of Audit & Assurance, Taxation, Finance and Accounts for more than five years. At Center she is working as Manager Finance and Accounts dealing with accounting, financial, donor’s compliance and reporting matters. Her expertise is in Auditing and taxation, designing and implementing financial system, policies and procedures, financial management and reporting. She has also worked at Bytes for All, Pakistan (nongovernmental organization), and HLB Ijaz Tabussum & Co. Chartered Accountants (CA firm). She is CA finalist from Institute of Chartered Accounts of Pakistan and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from University of Punjab. She is fluent in English and Urdu.
HASSAAN AHMED is a part qualified ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He has more than four years of experience in the field of finance and accounting. During this short period of time he has been associated with one of the top ten accounting firms internationally, Crowe Horwath International, and has undertaken various external audits of some of the most renowned companies in both the public and private sector. In addition to this Hassaan is a musician and integrates creative thinking in his auditing techniques.
Irfan Hayee has a diverse work experience of over 15 years with a multilateral intergovernmental organization working at regional level for scientific and technological capacity building, networking and expert exchange. His work portfolio included program and event management, communication, documentation and publications. As the Program Officer at Center, he is contributing to the communication component of the healthcare project, ‘Sukh Initiative’, being implemented in underserved urban localities of Karachi city.
MAHEERAH ALI is a visual artist working with Center as a Graphic Designer. She is a graduate of National College of Arts, with majors in painting. She learnt painting in school but is a self-taught artist in graphic and interior designing. During her painting experience she started converting her own 2D art into 3D through different softwares. She enjoyed it so much that decided to pursue graphic designing as a career. She is now using her skills not as a part-time hobby but a full time professional.
MAHWISH GUL joined Center as Program Officer. She has nearly seven years of experience in development sector. Before joining Center, she served as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Rural Support Programmes Network for three years where she led field teams to implement project on regular vaccination and emergency obstetric and neonatal care through social mobilization. Mahwish has also worked with Population council for almost four years on a groundbreaking reproductive health project named Family Advancement for Life and Health (FALAH). Mahwish earned a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Quaid I Azam University. Her passion for health and education issues was strengthened through her experience in rural areas of Pakistan. She has also represented her country at different international forums. She is also an Alumna of East West Center flagship program “Asia Pacific Leadership Program.”
MOHAMMAD FAISAL KHALIL has worked in the communication sector for nearly 11 years. At the Center, he is the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist for the Health Communication Component of the USAID-funded Maternal and Child Health Program (MCHP). His expertise is in development communication (particularly health), art and communication management, curatorial practice, and experimental communication design. At the Center, he is leading the religious leaders and community notables component, while also providing necessary support to all other media and communication related activities, including the development of the communication strategy for MCHP. Before joining the Centre, Faisal worked at the British Council’s Maternal and Newborn Health Programme - Research and Advocacy Fund (RAF) as their Media and Communications Manager. He has also worked as a curator for Laajverd, an independent art collective. He has an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a BSc (Honours) in Government and History, also from the LSE. He is fluent in English and Urdu, and also has basic proficiency in Arabic.
MOHAMMAD RAFIQ has worked as a graphic designer for more than twenty years. His expertise in graphic design, website design & outdoor advertising. He is managing and creating different graphic design such as brochures, reports, posters, logos, magazines, presentations, banners, and publicity materials etc. He also worked at Sunrise Digital, TheNetwork for Consumer Protection, Manhattan Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. and Adage Advertising.
MUHAMMAD SALMAN is working with the Center as one of its graphic designers. Within this creative role, he specifically works as a visual and VFX artist, and animator. With a Masters in Computer Science and specialization in Machine Learning, Data Prediction, Data Visualization and Social Network Analysis, Salman is uniquely experienced in developing visual content and storytelling from complex mathematical and statistical data and models. A keen student and practitioner of music and sound editing, Salman also contributes expertise to Center in developing sound and music for animations, songs and documentary films.
NATASHA EJAZ is Documentation Specialist providing support to to program, Empowerment, Voice and Accountability for Better and Nutrition. She is an international citizen, having lived and studied in England, Australia and Pakistan, where she had the opportunity to work with leading journalists, environmental experts and key government officials among others. With over ten years of experience in media and communications related fields, she also has a degree in Masters of International Relations from the University of Melbourne where her focus was to understand Pakistan’s foreign policy towards Afghanistan. On her return, she worked with MSI on a USAID project in Pakistan as Media Monitoring Coordinator and prior to that managed and implemented various educational and advocacy programs at the United Nations Association of Australia, Victorian Division. She started her career at Daily Times whilst studying in the National College of Arts, Lahore.
NAZIA TARIQ has worked in programme and grant management, and communication for over six years. At Center, she provides technical and managerial support as Communication Manager to the DFID-funded Empowerment, Voice and Accountability for Better Health and Nutrition (EVA–BHN). She specifically provides expertise in communication, project management as well as monitoring and evaluation. Nazia has previously worked in grant management at British Council’s Maternal and Newborn Health Programme – Research and Advocacy Fund (RAF), and in scholarship program administration at Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She holds a Masters in Project Management from SZABIST, Islamabad and a BS (Hons) Development Studies (Gold Medallist) Iqra University, Islamabad. She is fluent in English and Urdu.
NOUMAN SAJJAD has nearly five years of experience in Audit and Assurance, Taxation, Finance and Accounts. At Center, he is working as Finance Officer and responsible for auditing and taxation, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, risk management and financial reporting. Before joining Center, he has worked with Asif Associates Chartered Accountants as an Intern. He is ACCA finalist from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and also holds a Master Degree in Project Management from Bahria University, Islamabad. He also has religious educational background with Darse Nizami Aalmiya and is a Hafiz-ul-Quran Kareem.
SAMUEL SAMI has done his I.COM from Commerce College Islamabad. He has been serving Center since 2011. He has nearly eleven years of progressive experience. Before joining Center, Sami was working with Christian World Service where he served as an Admin Assistant for five years. Being there, he volunteered during the 2005 earthquake in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At Center, Sami provides assistance to the administration and finance departments.
SANAULLAH QUADRI is a young professional with nearly five years of experience in multidimensional organizations including the banking sector, with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as with the nonprofit sector in public health domain. He has a master degree in Business Administration with a finance major. His areas of expertise are general administration, logistics and procurement. Currently, Sanaullah provides administrative support to Center, including donor compliance and vigilance in inventory management and procurement.
SARAH KHOKHAR is working as a monitoring and evaluation specialist at CCPP. Her responsibilities include overall documentation, evaluation and research for the Health Communication Component of the 5 year USAID Program on Maternal and Child Health in Sindh. She holds a doctorate in Sociology with a concentration in Comparative International Development from the Johns Hopkins University. Sarah also has an M.A. in Sociology from Johns Hopkins and a B.A. in International Business and Sociology/Anthropology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Sarah’s experience with international organizations includes working for two USAID projects, most recently the monitoring and evaluation program (MEP) which was being implemented by Management Systems International and prior to that FALAH, a family planning and health project housed in the Population Council. She has also worked in the UN system, at United Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP), United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), as well as at the World Bank.
SHAGUFTA HAMEED BHATTI has more than 17 years of diverse professional experience of working on child, adolescents and youth rights programmes and projects, with a focus on education, capacity building and protection. Her expertise lie in the area of advocacy, programme planning and management. Her experience ranges from grass root level implementation to policy advocacy with the provincial governments and over the years has worked with academia, non-governmental organizations and the United Nations. She holds an M.Phil. Degree in Psychology from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
SOHAIL HUMAYUN MALIK has national and international experience of procurement, logistics, human resource, security and administration gained at United Nations, INGOs, multinational organisations and diplomatic missions over a period of more than twenty years. At Center, he provides administrative, procurement and HR support to project staff and overlooks organisation's operations. His expertise are in project management, procurement. human resource management and administration functions. In the past he has worked with UNOPS and Copenhagen group (Danish organisation) in Kabul, Jordan, Sudan projects and Dubai for five years. He also worked with IOM/UN as head of logistics and acting project manager (international) for one year on IOM, Jordan contract, John Snow Inc-USAID funded for 3 years, International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), funded by EU, CIDA, USAID and DFID as procurement specialist and security coordinator for four years and aproximately ten years of working experience with other multinational organisations and diplomatic missions in Pakistan.
SYED ZAIN-UL-ABIDEEN is a Liaison and Coordination Officer, under the Health Communication Component of the USAID's Maternal and Child Health Program, and responsible for faith actors engagement and health journalism components. Zain joined Center as a Research Associate for the DFID-funded Empowerment, Voice and Accountability for Better Health and Nutrition program. Before joining Center, he worked as a News Producer with Saach.tv and Communication and Content Writer at Saach Foundation. His areas of expertise are media and communications. Zain holds a bachelor degree in International Relations from Bahria University.
TAHIR ABBAS has rich experience of working with diverse group of people especially religious leaders, journalists and social activists at the grassroots level. His areas of expertise include networking with community leaders, communication, project designing and management and monitoring and evaluation. At Center, he manages its network of religious leaders, journalists, screen and script writers for the DFID- funded Empowerment, Voice and Accountability Project. He has a master degree in International Relations from Quaid e Azam University Islamabad. He is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi languages.
WAQAR HAMEED has been working with Center since 2016 as the Front Desk Officer. In parallel, he is pursuing his undergraduate studies in Commerce from Federal Urdu University. Waqar has about five years of experience in the development sector. Before joining Center, Waqar was working with the White Ribbon Alliance Pakistan for Safe Motherhood as an Admin Assistant.
